When I discovered Blue Mind Theory recently, everything clicked.
Science demonstrates that being in or near water can make you happier, healthier and more creative. I swim in the ocean year-round, do my best creative work dripping wet, and seek out coastlines, rivers, lakes and swimming pools when I'm on the move.
Now it all makes sense. Blue Mind compiles and analyses recent scientific research that has shown water's favourable cognitive and physical impacts being quantified by experts. The book shows proof that living near the shore, for example, has been shown to boost physical health and well-being. It also provides evidence that water generates a meditative state, which makes us happier, healthier, calmer, and more creative.
